The Pacific is being produced by Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, and Gary Goetzman in association with HBO Films, Playtone, Dreamworks, and Seven Network. The Pacific is another ten-part television World War II miniseries of HBO. This is about the U.S. Marines from their first battle with the Japanese on Guadalcanal, through the rain forests of Cape Gloucester and the stronghold of Peleliu,across the bloody sands of Iwo Jima and through the horror of Okinawa, and finally to their triumphant but uneasy return after V-J Day.
